Har Ki Doon Trekking Tour Package

Har Ki Doon is valley in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Har Ki Doon is known for its natural beautiful mountain views. At the height of 3400 meters its great trek for trekking enthusiastic. Har Ki Doon Trekking tour is 05 days trek from Sankari Village. Water from this valley with gradually meet the river Yamuna. Har Ki Doon is important catchment area for Yamuna river. Har Ki Doon valley known as valley of gods. It is also believed Pandavas also visited here before Swargarohini. Camping under the sky on the river bank would be worth to experience. Swargarohini (I, II, & III) Bandarpoonch and Blackpeak is visible during this trek. Light Rain is also common if you are trekking in summer apart from regular monsoon rain. Duryodhan Temple is also worth to see during this tour. Dehradun / Rishikesh up of people died and skeletons are remained here. Some of them are from 18th century as well. Roopkund is located on the lap of Trishul mountain. Trishul peak is 7120m and Nanda Ghunti nearby is 6310 m high. Due to higher altitude the water in lake only melts one or two months in summer. As the water is just 2-3 meters deep skeletons are visible in that time. Due to cold weather it remained in good conditions.

Best Time For This Trekking: Roopkund trekking is generally good in summer (April to June) and Sep Oct. During winter it is very hard due to snow while in monsoon rain make it difficult.

How to Reach: For Roopkund Trekking Lohajung is starting point. For Lohajung nearest railway station is Kathgodam which is 210 kms drive via Kathgodam - Bheemtal - Almora - Kausani - Gwaldam - Lohajung route. Kathgodam to Lohajung is 10 hrs drive. Dehradun (300 kms) and Pantnagar (250 kms) are two nearest Airport. Dehradun has good frequency of flights compare to Pantnagar. It is better to Arrive one / two days before the

Day 01: Dehradun to Sankari (1950 m) (220 kms / 10 hrs)

For the Har Ki Doon Trek Dehradun / Haridwar / Rishikesh can be pick up point as per the guest choice. Due to long drive on first day we prefer to start at 07. It is advised to arrive one day before in above places to start on time. If you arrive two - three days before you can also visit some places like Mussoorie Rishikesh Haridwar. Drive to Sankari is mostly hill area drive. You will enjoy good amount of mountain views during the drive itself. On the way is Mussoorie which is known as queen of hills. We will reach Sankari in evening. Check in to guest house. Free to walk around in evening. Night stay in guest house at Sankari.

Day 02: Sankari (1950 m) to Taluka (12 kms drive) & Taluka to Pauni Garaat (2500 M) (10 kms trek / 6 hrs)

Today morning after breakfast we will drive to Taluka village. From Taluka our trek will start. Trekking route pass through the forest. You will also see lot of streams passing through giant stones. Some farming also done in this area like Potato, millet & maize. We will establish tent. Night stay in tents at Pauni Garaat.

Day 03: Pauni Garaat (2500 m) to Kalkattiyadhar (2950 m) (08 kms trek / 6 hrs)

After breakfast in morning we will start our trek to Kalkattiyadhaar. Our trek goes through some farms and Oslo village. Villagers also use powerful water streams to make flour out of grains. Temple of Duryodhan is also worth to visit. Night stay in tents at Kalkattiyadhar.

Day 04: Kalkattiyadhar (2950 m) to Har Ki Doon (3400 m) and Return

In the morning today we will start very early. Our trek today passes through alpine meadows at the base of glaciers. Pine trees are very common in today’s trek. From the Har Ki Doon valley you will see some snow on the mountains & milk color waterfalls. During winter the snow is more. Swarga Rohini, Black Peak and Hata Peak is also visible from here. Later we will return to our campsite. Night stay in tents at Kalkattiyadhar.

Day 05: Kalkattiyadhar (2950 m) to Pauni Garaat (2500 m) (08 kms trek / 5 hrs)

Morning after breakfast today we will start trek to Pauni Garaat. It is same trail we already passed through Oslo. Relaxed trekking down will be good feeling today. Night stay in tents at Pauni Garaat.

Day 06: Pauni Garaat (2500 m) to Taluka (10 kms trek / 5 hrs) & Taluka to Sakari (12 kms drive)

After morning breakfast we will start our trek to Taluka. After the familiar trekking route you will reach Taluka. At arrival in Taluka we will drive to Sankari Village. Night stay in guest house at Sankari Village.

Day 07: Sankari to Dehradun (220 kms / 10 hours drive)

Today after breakfast in morning we will start our return journey. We will reach by the evening. Our drop location will be according guest choice like Dehradun / Haridwar / Rishikesh.
