Chakrata is small hill station at 2100 meters from sea level. Chakrata is located in Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Previously known for Jaunsari culture it was known as Jaunsar Bawar. Chakrata was developed in british ruling as hill station along with many other hill stations in Indian himalayas. You will get excellent views of Yamuna valley below chakrata. Kharambha Peak is highest point in chakrata which provides great panoromic views. Surrounding forest and hills provides good opportunity for trekking and hiking.

Best time to visit Chakrata :
Chakrata as Hill station is best to visit in Summer (April May June) as well as in Sep Oct during diwali Dussehara vacation. If you like to visit for snow winter season is also good from December onwards.
