Kunjapuri Temple Rishikesh

Kunjpari Temple is temple of Goddess Sati first wife of Shiva. It is located in garhwal Himalayan mountains at 1650 meters near Hindolakhal and Narendranagar. Temple is approx 28 kms from Rishikesh approx 1 hr drive towards Uttarkashi. Temple provides panoramic views of Himalayas. On clear day you can see Bandarpoonch, Gangotri, Chaukhamba mountains. Temple is accessible by 300 steps from the nearest road. Offerings like coconut and incense sticks etc available near the temple. Two tea stalls also available nearby. Trek is open throughout the year but due to rain trek will be not good idea here during july august.

According to your choice to see Sunrise or Sunset you can start from Rishikesh. After 1 hr drive you will reach here. Enjoy Himalaya views. Get blessing from Goddess Kunjapuri. After visiting the temple trek is downhill trek approx 8-9 kms in total. It will take approx 3-4 hrs depend on guest. It will pass through mountains as well some tiny Himalayan farms. Himalayan valley views are throughout the tour. During the trek you can learn about local culture from guide. The trek ends near Neergaddu waterfall. Its natural waterfall approx 25 feet high. Artificial swimming pool is made below the waterfall if you want to take bath. However you need to carry swimming costumes with you in advance. At the end of the trek our vehicle will be waiting for you. Just after 6 kms drive you will reach rishikesh from here.

There is 50 Rs per person entry fees at this trek for foreign visitor and 30 Rs for Indian visitor.

July and August is rain season here and trek route is damaged sometime due to rocks falling. Apart from rain season it is good to visit throughout the year. Views of sunrise and sunset can be difficult if no clear weather.

No good restaurants available in this area during trek so if guest want they can carry packed meals.
