Located on foothills of himalayas, surrounded by the beautful forest of Rajaji National Park at the bank of the most holiest river in the world Ganga it is certainly like magnet for spiritual seekers. Akhara word decribes fighters but in Hindu religion it is also used for ancient traditional organizations of Sadhus (As fighters for religion). There are currently 14 Akharas in total. Oldest one is known as Juna Akhara with more than 5,00,000 Sadhus associated with it. Sadhus live it Akhara and learn from their gurus. Most well knowledged Sadhus like to stay away from material world (considered as Maya). However its certainly interesting to see and learn about Sadhus. Hindu religion is cosidered one of the oldest religion and also very complex religion so it always attracts people to Sadhus which has dedicated their life to religious ways.
